Memorial Construction Begins
On July 4th, 2006 ground was broken for the construction of the DWI Memorial of Perpetual Tears. We have finally begun construction on the memorial that will pay tribute to the innocent victims of DWI. At last, there will be a place of solace for those who have lost love ones and/or been injured by the violent crime of DWI.
The Mayor of the City of Moriarty, Adan Encinias opened the ceremony with the naming of the many people that have been instrumental in the realization of this dream. It was a beautiful day for acknowledgments and for tears of both joy and sadness. Many guests attended including victims of DWI and dignitaries such as NM Senator Sue Wilson Beffort, NM Representative Rhonda King, and Terry Huertaz, Executive Director of Mothers Against Drunk Driving of NM. It was a momentous day for all victims of DWI.
